I’m Alive

Yes, I am still alive. This year has flown by. I am finally where I feel like I can breathe again.

Last time I wrote, I was half way through Jaime Eason’s LiveFit program. While I had to take a two-week hiatus mid-plan because of holiday travels and my gym being closed, January I picked right where I left off and finished the whole program. The entire time I missed 2 workouts, one because the gym was closed and another because I overslept.  Whoops. All in all I really enjoyed this program. Unfortunately, I became busy and forgot to take after pictures.

Last week

For the past six months, I have been doing my own thing. My schedule has looked like this:

workout

As you can see not a lot of cardio going on. I do miss it. But the issues with my knee have kept me from running too much. However, the bonus to all this weight lifting is, I have never felt stronger in my entire life. I noticed a huge difference when I went back to yoga. I was finally able to accomplish a pose I worked on for years, a handstand! I was beyond thrilled and it keeps me motivated to keep going and push myself.

In other news, the reason for my lengthy absence is my job. Last I mentioned, I was taking on more and more responsibility. I can now officially say I am the director of my school. I feel as though I am in a bit over my head at times. This is absolutely nothing I ever thought I would be doing. It has kept me very busy and exhausted. Being an introvert and having a steady stream of people come to you all day long is beyond exhausting. I make it to the evenings and weekends and don’t want to see or talk to anyone.

Thankfully, I have continued to make my workouts a priority. That is my time. While I take breaks when I begin to feel fatigue set in, that is my time away from the world and I am so thankful for it.

Seeing as I am now in administration, I don’t get a summer off like I normally would. That is a bummer. But I am taking the summer to collect myself, get some rest and plan for the next school year. I am hoping for a good one. This past year was definitely a fly by the seat of your pants kind of year.

I know this next school year will bring a lot of busyness. However, I am hoping since I won’t also be teaching, I will be able to write a bit more often. I sat down today to write my goals for the year. (Yes I know the year is over half way done, but I have been in survival mode these past 6 months.) One goal is to write once a week. I miss it. It is a good outlet for me. Even if my parents are the only ones reading, I will write.
